The MCHS Nutrition Department takes pride in playing an important role in promoting improved health through good nutrition.
MCHS employs a Certified Dietary Manager who manages the dietary staff of 9 people and the day to day operations of the centralized dietary department and kitchen located at the Good Shepherd Home. A consulting dietitian is on site twice a month to monitor residents’ and patients’ nutritional status and offer outpatient consults by appointment.
Comprehensive nutrition assessments: Assessments for residents and swing bed patients are conducted to identify goals for improving nutritional intake and health. Individualized care plans are designed to meet the patient’s and resident’s specific needs. Nutrition education: Patients receive nutrition education as needed. Outpatient nutrition education is offered by appointment.
